Not happy with my circumcision style

I was recently circumcised, i am 18 years old. I made a consultation appointment with a urologist, it lasted no more than ten minutes. During the appointment we scheduled my circumcision. Being young and dumb i now realized i probably did not ask enough questions. After doing more research, unfortunately after the procedure, i realized that the circumcision can be done in a few different ways. I was under the impression that all of my foreskin would be removed and my penis would look as it would when i pulled my foreskin all the way back. It now looks like just the top of the foreskin was cut and the rest was just sowed into place, i don't like it. What should i do? I feel as though my Dr. Is somewhat at fault for being so brief and not going over any other things besides telling me after my circumcision the head of my penis will be exposed, duh. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you are correct that you did not discuss important things with your urologist either because he was dismissive or because you were embarrassed. If what you had was a circumcision (-cision, removal), then the foreskin would be cut all the way around.

If you had a different procedure, such as a notch, which is done to relieve skin tension such as when you cannot retract your foreskin (phimosis), that is not circumcision.

If you want a cosmetic procedure, you can elect to do so at any time. Otherwise there is no medical reason to have a circumcision, so the minimum necessary to relieve a condition is what is done.
